Question Description
Task 1
Produce a table listing ways such as Deforestation, Agriculture for food production. Transportation of food and travel etc. can have an impact on the environment either by their activities or through producing pollutants such as fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides etc. and for each of these activities explain how the activity or pollutant causes harm to ecosystems.
Task 2:
Write a worksheet (as a questionnaire) that can be completed by the visitors at a local conservation centre where you are helping to raise awareness of human impact on environment. The worksheet should show a list of indicators (at least six) and ask visitors to separate them into living and non-living with brief description about the type of environmental pollution indicated by each one. Ask visitors to find an example of each one of them in the conservation centre. Once you have designed your worksheet you must complete it yourself so that you have the “correct answers”

AC 4.1 Describe the impact that different human activities have on the ecosystems.

AC 4.3 Describe the different methods used to help reduce the impact of human activities on ecosystems
Task 3 Produce a poster/report describing at least two of the following methods which can help reduce pollution;
- Recycling and reusing
- Reforestation, replacement planting, breeding programmes
- Using renewable resources e.g. wind/solar
- Using organic fertilisers and biological control of pest
For each of the two methods chosen you should describe either on your poster or on your report, how they can reduce the effects of human impact and benefit the ecosystem.
