Instructions Case Study
An education consulting firm would like to develop a website to guide prospective students about higher education in Australia. The website should contain all the relevant information such as listing of universities, subjects in various degrees and their eligibility, acceptance criteria, fees, career outcomes and stories from graduates. There should be multimedia elements such as video interviews or podcasts.
Write a report (2000 words) and cover the following areas:
- Overview: Short summary of the objectives and scope of the project
- Identify the MOV and explain how it was developed
- Discussion of which Project Management methodology will be applied and its strengths and possible weaknesses
- Stakeholder analysis and communication plan
- Discussion of the leadership qualities required by the project manager and the roles and responsibilities of the project team members.
- A WBS for the project including: tasks to be performed, duration, responsible team member.
- Your answers to these questions must be justified and supported.
- All assumptions must be clearly stated.
- All material sourced and used in answering these questions must be fully referenced in accordance with Faculty guidelines.
Rationale :- This assessment has been designed to allow you to show your ability to:
- Be able to differentiate between a range of project life cycle models, and their appropriate application;
- Be able to identify and reflect on the key elements of the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) framework, including project stakeholders, communication management, the project management knowledge areas, common tools and techniques, and project success factors;
- Be able to explain and appreciate the role of ICT project management within a professional workplace, from the viewpoint of the member/leader of the project team;
- Be able to critically evaluate how a practicing ICT project manager applies ICT project management techniques, skills, methods and software tools in the IT profession;
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of leadership qualities required to successfully lead a project;
- Be able to apply and analyse established ICT project management principles, skills and techniques to a case study.
