Introduction

The political economy of the middle east region is very complex and manifested by the conflicts over resources specifically oil. The major events that shape the politics and economy of the region are Iran-Iraq war, invasion of Kuwait, Invasion of the USA in Afghanistan, Invasion of Iraq and the most important i.e. Arab Spring. These disturbances are further accentuated by the emergence of Taliban and ISIL. These Islamist groups aim at transforming the minds of the people which became the main reason for the conflicts in the middle-east region. The topic for the research is to identify the impact of the political economy in Israeli administration towards the middle-east (Bayat, 2013). This will be linked with the conditions prevailing in the Jordon from the year 1999-2017.

On February 1999, Jordan’s King Abdullah II gained power after the death of King Hussein. This was the major turning point for the country and the whole middle-east region which shaped the political economy of Jordan. The king’s model of Jordan is very radical and contemporary in nature. The aim was to fabricate a society which respects pluralism and is instilled with modernity and solidarity. Moreover, his intellect played a major rule in solving a lot of region issues like Palestinian Israeli conflict, terrorism and Arab Spring (Issawi, 2013). The research will tend to investigate the impact of Jordon on Israeli administration and political economy towards the middle-east.

In addition to this, the literature review will also aim to collect the traces that still proves the impact of American diplomacy over the region. Further, it will aim to explore the Israel-Palestinian peace process along with its impact on the 20-member states of the Arab league. Moreover, Arab's spring has a considerable stake in the functioning of the political economy of the entire middle-east region. This is enough to satiate the research topic and therefore the literature review will be extended further to explain the impact of terrorism and the invisible hand of religion to determine the functioning of all the economies of the region. This will be explained with the help of various pieces of literature i.e. Owen (2013), Fawcett (2016), Jackson (2018), Dalacoura (2012), etc. The keywords that will be considered so as to satisfy the study will be Arab Spring, terrorism in middle-east, Israel-Palestinian Issue, Jordan’s political economy and Israeli Impact on the political economy of the middle-east. In this manner, the literature review will aim at critically analysing these pieces of literature so as to get a deeper knowledge pertaining to the research topic which will ultimately help in the fulfilling the research objective and the aim.

Furthermore, in order to substantiate these pieces of literature, the research will also collect data from newspaper articles, books and Government reports so as to get in-depth knowledge of events shaping up the Jordan’s economy from 1999 to 2017.

Further, the research is based on the shreds of evidence, logic and proper reasons and therefore, positivism will be an apt choice in this case.

Research Approach

The approach of the research will be inductive in nature only because of the qualitative nature of the data and the research. Moreover, the research will attempt at making use of the specific data to draw general conclusions. Thus, the inductive approach will be followed in this research.

Research Design

There are three types of research designs namely exploratory, descriptive, causal or experimental. This research is based on the case study of the Jordan from 1999-2017, therefore, the research will be purely descriptive in nature. The ultimate aim is to prove the context of the case study so as to scrutinize and investigate the research topic.

Data Collection Process

Generally, there are two ways to collect the data i.e. primary and secondary. This research will be purely based on the secondary data from the various research journals and books which will help in clarify regarding the conditions of middle-east during the period 1999 to 2017. Moreover, the future impact of the current decisions by economies of middle-east will also be collected. Further, the sampling technique that will be used for this research will be non-probabilistic convenient sampling (Saunders and Lewis, 2012). The rationale behind this is that the research is qualitative in nature and the journal articles and other published material will be used and selected deliberately so as to gratify the purpose of the research.

Data Analysis Techniques

There are several techniques to analyse the data which may range from complex statistical tools like ANOVA, F-test, correlation or regression to as simple as pie-charts and bar graphs. These tools are generally used for the quantitative data (Zikmund et al., 2013). On the other hand, the qualitative data for this research will be analysed through inductive approach, transcribing the data collected and then coding it descriptively to find the central theme in all the sets of data so collected.
